For Every Son Out There.

I saw this on facebook the other day and thought it was too good not to share. It was posted after the VMA's where we all saw the discussing (in my opinion) Miley Cyrus performance. If you liked it ( I dont judge) then thats your own thing but I don't want to hear about it.
"Dear son,
Don’t let Robin Thicke be a lesson to you.
Don’t let any of these pigs and perverts you see on TV be a lesson to you. They treat women like garbage; they possess no chivalry, no self control; they are disloyal and dishonest; they spend all day pursuing pleasure at the expense of others, and they encourage you to do the same. You might be tempted to follow suit. In fact, you WILL be tempted. These male pop stars and celebrities, look at them, you’ll think. They take advantage of emotionally broken, self loathing, confused young women, and they are rewarded handsomely for it. Look at their nice clothes and their nice cars. Look how they are admired and loved. Look, they treat women like trash and other women fawn all over them because of it. This must be how real men behave, you’ll think.
And you’ll be wrong. You’ll be wrong about a lot of things in life — this is what it means to be human — but never will you be more wrong than when you feel the temptation to buy the lies that pop culture sells about the nature of true masculinity. Son, there is nothing glamorous or fun about being a man of low character and no integrity. What you see on TV is a facade. It’s a sales pitch. It’s poison. You see the bright lights and the sexy women, but you don’t see what happens when the cameras are off and these pop culture gods return to their lives as mere mortals. You don’t see them in their big, empty, lonely houses. You don’t see the emptiness in the pit of their souls. You don’t see all the alcohol and drugs they have to use to dull the pain of living a life devoid of real, committed relationships. You don’t see the hatred they have for themselves and for humanity. You don’t see the jealousy they have towards normal, decent men.
Your dad is no celebrity. He’s just an average, boring guy. But he’s got something that every famous and non-famous womanizer envies: He’s got the love and commitment of ONE beautiful, smart, faithful woman. He’s got your mom, and he’ll only have your mom until the day he dies. He ought to be waking up every day shouting praises to the Lord because of that.
Listen, son, don’t let the world tell you how to be a man. They don’t know anything about the subject.
Men are loyal. Men are honest. Men respect and honor women. A man goes out and finds one woman, and he vows to protect and love her for the rest of his life. A man would never betray that vow. Even the weakest and most cowardly man — if he is a man at all — would die for the woman he loves. Your dad is no hero, but let someone try to hurt your mom and watch him suddenly turn into Superman (or Batman, whichever you prefer).
See, son, you don’t have to be big and strong to be a man, although I think you will be one day. You don’t have to be “cool” or athletic. You don’t have to play guitar or fix cars. These are all fine things, but they don’t define a man. A man is defined by how he treats women, by how he keeps his promises, and by how he protects and serves the ones he loves. That’s what makes a man a man. My dad taught me that, he taught it by example. I pray I can do the same for you.
Oh, and by the way, if I ever catch you disrespecting women, I will sit you down and talk to you about it. But first I’ll kick your butt up and down the street. That’s a promise. "

Matt Walsh, I absolutely LOVED this and respect you very much. Im so glad to have a husband that lives by this and I will make sure my son lives by this too.

Nothing But Glisten Update

It just amazes me how many wonderful people I have met since I started this little business. I've made some great friends and I just adore all my customers.
Recently I had this idea of how to get my name out there along with helping other small businesses to grow.
So I came up with Mama's Homemade. I found 3 other moms that own a small shop who wanted to join in on the fun.
We came up with a cute little post card that we stick in with each order that gives them a discount towards their next purchase for all the shops.

They are all extremely sweet so try and get to know them.
All of them have Facebook & Instagram pages. Follow them and help support homemade businesses.

As for my shop, I have been hard at work creating new things for each and everyone.
My etsy shop is pretty small but that is because most of the things I do are custom.
I have had many people find things that I have made and ask me to change them to fit what they are looking for. So, if you dont see something you like, shoot me an email and we can come up with something just for you.

Check out my sites and follow :)

Wedding Gifts for the wedding party or the Bride & Groom.

You have no idea how much I truly appreciate it!!

Once again its time for the Cara Box Reveal!

Im so in love with this! I always have so much fun meeting new girls and giving and receiving boxes.
This month I was paired up with two lovely ladies; Kaitlyn (I sent her a box) & Ashley (She sent me a box).

I just adored this months Cara Box from Ashley. It was so much fun being paired up with someone who has the same lifestyle as me (having kids). She put so much thought into everything she gave me.
I'm so excited to wear this beautiful scarf! I absolutely love the colors. She also sent Jaxon this adorable shirt. He will like such a little stud in it.
She also sent me this cute little book filled with adorable sticky notes... Which I've already started using ;)
She sent the cutest homemade dog treats from her pup to mine. Lacy was the first to try them and boy did she love it! I can't wait to try the coconut mocha. Yum! And the chocolate caramel brownie was to die for!
And of course what Mama doesn't need a pampering day? I can't wait to start doing my nails again. Ill be the mom hiding out in the bathroom painting my nails. Ha!

49 & 50 Weeks.

Oh man does Mr. Jaxon have stinky feet. And of course I found out the hard way.
We had been playing at the park and when we got home I laid him down on the bed and gave him a bottle. I bent down over the bed like I usually do to hold it for him when he is lazy and he decided to stick his feet in my face, his stinky feet. I swear he gets that from his dad.

Jaxon has actually been giving us high fives when we ask. He has also been big on waving to people when they wave to him. He still is very stubborn when we ask him to do it.

New favorite thing.. the "stink bug". He loves to put his head down and his butt up in the air.

Jaxon did something very cute this week. Michael brought his in bed with us when he first woke up and usually he will lean over and kiss me and then kiss Michael. Well he did that so after I kissed Michael to see what Jaxon would do and he just stared. So I did it again and again. After I stopped and looked and Jax, he grabbed Michaels shoulder and brought him in to kiss me. He would move his shoulder back and then back in again to make him give me another kiss. It was just too cute.

We took Jaxon down to sea port village this week. The last time I had been there was when I was pregnant and visiting for my baby shower. My dad was staying at one of the hotels for a convention so we just went and hung out for the day. Jaxon was so excited to be in the hotel room and was able to run around and touch EVERYTHING. He had a great time swimming and walking around and seeing everything.

Jax has always been able to see himself in his car seat because we have the little mirror there so I can see him while I'm driving. Well yesterday I was sitting in the front seat waiting for Michael and I could hear Jaxon laughing. I looked back and he was throwing his blankie on his head and laughing at himself. I was able to get a video of him doing it.

This week Jaxon started coping our laugh. We will laugh and he will force a laugh out. Now we will walk around doing a fake laugh at nothing.

We took Jax to the beach to meet up with some of Michael's old friends. Jaxon was so content playing by himself in the sand. I kept him in the shade and put tons of sunblock on him and a hat. For the little time he took the hat off and walked out of the shade from the umbrella, his poor little face got a little sunburned. I felt horrible even though its not a bad burn. After the beach he got to watch a live jazz band and a bunch of old people dancing. He had such a great time.

I Did It! 10lbs down!

(145lbs -now 135lbs)
It felt like I was never going to be able to get back to my pre-baby weight. From what my doctor first weighed me at, I'm officially there!! I started drinking shakeology 5 weeks back and I have lost 10lbs now! Woohoo! It feels so good that I don't want to stop.

I did the cleanse for the first three days and then kept doing it. I changed it up a little and only do two shakes instead of three a day(I try and make the bag last longer). The best part is you can eat actual food for dinner! I have had some cheat days while doing this and I still lost weight, but I don't suggest doing that.

I first heard about this drink when I saw my friend Allison post pictures of it ( and some other people). Her boys have to be very careful when they eat due to food allergies so she makes sure they drink this to get the right nutrients in them. It is a very healthy drink and that's why I was ok doing it. And it taste great! I actually enjoy drinking it and look forward to it.

This is how my day goes:
Wake up:
Green tea (yogi green tea)
Shakeology (blended with ice)
Banana
Lunch:
Shakeology (blended with ice)
Green tea
4:00
Fruit
Dinner (6-7pm)
Salad, chicken and veggies (once a week I cheat and have something else)

And drink lots of water!! It will help take hunger pains away.

You should do this and work out. I try and work out 3-4 a week but sometimes my life gets crazy and I don't.  Imagine how much more I could lose if I was able to work out everyday.

If you have any question contact Allison.
She is always more then happy to answer questions and help you along your jurney.

47 & 48 Weeks.

Jaxon has found the toilet.... And toilet paper. If he has a chance, he will book it to the bathroom so he can put his toy in the toilet.

This week has been rough on us. I was lucky enough to get my IUD out without surgery but it wasn't a fun process. See previous post >>IUD Hell.
Ontop of that happening, Mikes and my debit card info was stollen and our account was drained. Now here is where it gets weird. They not only had our card info but our address and emails. So a lot of the stupid things they bought (perfect pancake) was sent to our house. When we told the bank that we were getting conformation emails, you could tell they thought it was us buying it... Why would I want a perfect pancake and growth hormones ?!? To me it feels like some punk kid that is going around just trying to ruin people's lives. Luckily, after calling company's and canceling and working with our bank, we were able to get our money back. It's going to take 2 weeks before we have all our money though. So frustrating.

Jaxon's Nana bought him a stuffed alligator and ive never seen him so excited before. He was giving it hugs when he was in the shopping cart. When he wakes up in the morning, he will run over and give it a hug. Some good ol' fashion alligator lovin.

Jax got his third tooth this week! Now he has two bottom teeth and one top.

We got jax to start shaking his head like he is saying "No". I think he just does it because he likes the feeling. It's pretty cute.

This week Jaxon learned he can through toys. It's great when it's a ball, but not so great when it's an iPhone at my face. Also, his hitting toys (to make sounds) has turned into hitting us and the dog. Now begins the teaching to not be mean. I have to remind myself that he isn't being mean, he just doesn't know yet and it's my job to teach him not to do that.

Jax started pointing to things this week. He actually seems interested in learning what things are, or showing me something. Speaking of showing me things, whenever Jax wakes up from his nap and I go to get him, he will show me how he can turn on his sound machine in his crib. Once he turns it on, he will look up at me to hear me tell him "good job".

Jaxon learned if he moved his figure up and down in my phone, that it will scroll through whatever I'm looking at.

This week we had a dinner date with some of Michael's old friends and they have a little boy names Eli who is 9 months older then Jax. Jax was pretty excited to see Eli and once Eli warmed up to Jax, they had so much fun together. I love seeing Jax play with other kids.

Jax figured out how to rock the rocking chair. He even rocked me while I was sitting in it.

Oh Mr. Hugs & Kisses. Man this kid can be the sweetest little thing. When I'm sitting on the ground with him, he will run up and give me a hug, turn around Togo get a toy and then come give me another hug or a kiss. He LOVES giving kisses. He will even give his puppy a kiss.

My long time friend had her baby this week. Unfortunately Jax and I are both sick so we haven't been able to meet him yet.

Jax is 11 months old! One more month till I have a 1 year old. I just can't believe it. This kid is growing too fast.

And a special happy birthday to Seth!!
