Newborn Must Haves

Carters Blankets- I absolutely love the double sided blankets they make. They are so soft and Jaxon loves to be wrapped up in them. I bought that exact same one in the picture at Target.

Boppy- Helps so much when you are nursing. I also used it for when Jaxon was sleeping on my chest at night. I was scared he was going to roll off so I put that around me and propped my arms on it.

Gerber Onesies (with the cuffs)- Jaxon scratches up his face if his hands aren't covered. I tried mittens and socks and nothing seemed to work until I got these. Now its all he wears.

BabyGanics Hand Sanitizer- I have some in my diaper bag and at home.

Johnson & Johnson Baby Hand & Face Wipes- Great for washing his face real quick.

Lansinoh Pads, Milk Storage, and Lanolin- Everything you need for breast feeding.

Nap Nanny- (Updated Jan 7 2013) Scratch that. Its been recalled. :(

Price Lionheart Wipe Warmer- If you have a baby like mine that does not like to be naked and cries every time they have their diaper changed, then you need this! Jax HATES cold wipes on his butt.

2 Weeks Old

Everyone I have talked to has said they cant believe I've had a C-Section. Im truly amazed at how fast I've healed. Every once in awhile it will hurt a little bit, but I have been out shopping and having a normal life. My mom and I had fun going to target to get clothes for me for my birthday. Since Im a new mom, I needed some cute new clothes to go along with.

Something funny happened this week. I had just fed Jax and handed him over to Michael to be burped and changed. As Michael was changing him, Jax decided he still had to go. He started to pee... and then started to poop! Michael didnt have a diaper down so it went all over his changing mat.

Poor Michael seems to always get peed on when he changes him, and I get peed on when his diaper leaks (which happens a lot).

Jaxon still hates having his diaper changed. I think he just hates being naked. We also found a binky that he likes but will only take every once in awhile. He loves to cuddle which means he doesnt like to sleep alone. Im hoping I will be able to get him to sleep in his own bed, but for now I love him sleeping with me.

We had Jaxon's 2 week check up yesterday. No more jaundice! He also weighs 7 lb 6 oz and measures at 19 1/4 in. Doctor said he is doing great.

When he was born he was 6 lb 7 oz, 17 in
Four days later he was 6 lb 3 oz, 17 1/2 in
Two weeks old he is 7 lb 6 oz, 19 1/4 in

Weight lost this week?  -3, 10 lbs to go till I'm back to my pre pregnancy weight.
New Things About My Baby? Jax lost his umbilical cord yesterday so once the scab is gone I can give him his "first bath". He is staying awake for a lot longer and loves to look around. He also smiled at daddy a couple days ago. That toothless smile just melts my heart.
Hours Sleeping Through The Night? up to 4 Hours
Anything New With Mommy? I was able to get my belly button ring back in! I really didn't want to lose it since I have taken out most of my other piercings.
I was only able to get my engagement ring back on but my wedding band is too small. At least I'm wearing something.

Baby Jax is 1 Week Old

My sweet little boy is one week old.
I never realized how fast the days go by when you have a baby.
I love watching him smile in his sleep, cuddle in my arms, and make cute little noises while he eats.
I still cant believe he is finally here.

Weight lost this week?  Before I had Jaxon I had gained 32 lbs. I lost 19 lbs in one week and have 13lbs to go!
New Things About My Baby? This week was my first week with him. He hates having his diaper changed and isnt a fan of being naked but he loves to snuggle. He wont sleep in his own bed but sleeps on my chest.
Hours Sleeping Through The Night? 2-3 Hours

Two down, one to go!

Jaxon's Birth Story

Jaxon's Birth Story

If any of you have read my posts prior to this one, you will know I had a scheduled C-Section for Sept 14th because Jaxon was breeched ( My actual due date was Sept 20th).
Sunday Sept 9th my husband and our two friends wanted to go shooting. We decided to drive up to a park where people can pretty much just shoot off the side of the road. Now the road leading up to that point was very bumpy and we all joked around about how funny it would be if it made me go into labor. I sat in the car and watched everyone else shoot since I didn't know if it was ok for my to be around it. After that I felt fine and it just seemed like another day.
3:00 A.M. rolled around and I woke up for my normal pee routine. One I got into the bathroom.... MY WATER BROKE. I stood there shocked ( Kind of like when I found out I was pregnant) and finally woke my hubby up with the words "OH CRAP". He was so out of it and was trying to figure out what was going on. I told him my water broke and I think it took me a couple times saying it for him to realize the baby was coming. He called the hospital while I got everything ready (With a towel between my legs). I called my best friend and my parents to let them know what was going on.
Juli arrived at the hospital a little after we did.  Since I was there for her daughters birth, I wanted her their for Jaxon's birth. They hooked me up and did all the normal test and then got me ready for my C-Section. I hate needles so when the first attempt at the IV didn't work, I started getting really nervous for what was to come.
The nurse took me into the operating room alone to have my epidural put in. That was probably the worse part for me. They laid me down and told my hubby to come in. I started getting so nervous that it made me nauseous. The anesthesiologist put something by my nose that smelt gross but took the nausea away. My hubby later told me when he asked why I was scared and I told him I was scared to be cut into... Right at the moment he looked over the sheet and the doctors hand was already in me. Thank God I didn't feel anything.
Everything was so fast. The anesthesiologist took pictures and the first one was of Jaxon's butt coming out of me. Once he was out, they showed him to me real quick and took him over to get weighed. Michael was over with him the whole time (which made me feel a little better).

I could here him crying but couldn't see him. That part was a little hard for me. I just remember laying there thinking this didn't feel real and wanted them to be finished so I could see my son. They finally brought him over and took some pictures of all of us together.

After all that, I was wheeled into the recovery room. Now here is the best part. When I found out I was having a C-Section, I was really upset because I knew when I was in recovery, they were going to take the baby up to the nursery. Since my water broke at 3:00 A.M., there wasn't anyone else there in the hospital... which meant they let Jaxon be with me the WHOLE time in recovery! They also let Juli come back and be with us. They helped me nurse him and I got to have my skin-to-skin contact that I wanted. I also got to watch them give him his first bath.

Once I got into my room, I had nurses in and out every 2 hours. At least the hospital food was good.
Jaxon slept with either Michael or me the whole time. I think we might have put him in his bed once.
We were only there for 2 nights and left on the third day. I don't think I could have been there much longer.

38 Weeks ( One week to go)

Now the count down starts! One week left till my C-Section.
I definitely feel 38 weeks.
Im always tired and I just want this baby out of me.
Im still trying to get myself ok with having a C-section but I'm still very nervous.
I just hope everything goes perfect and I have a fast and easy recovery.
But on a positive note, I get to see my mom soon. It will be nice having her here to help.

How far along? 38 Weeks
Weight gained this week: 2 ( Total 32 )
Maternity clothes?  Still 50/50
Stretch Marks? Yes, but only on my hips. Lets hope it stays that way.
Sleep? Some nights are good but others are horrible. I wake up at 3am and 7am everyday.
Miss Anything? Being able to get off my butt with no problem, bending over, decent size boobs, not feeling sick all of the time... and the list could keep going.

Food Cravings? Coke
Anything Making You Queasy or sick? Anything stinky.
Gender? Baby BOY.
Labor Signs? False labor pain, cramping.

Belly Button In Or Out? Still in. woohoo!

Happy Or Moody Most Of The Time? Mostly happy, but I am very emotional now.
Looking Forward To? Jaxon's arrival! 1 more week. C-Section scheduled for Sept 14th
.

This Week: (thebump.com)

Baby is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds.

His head is now about the same circumference as his abdomen.

He may have about an inch or so of hair already.

He's slowly shedding that white goo on his skin (called vernix caseosa) but you might see some of it at birth.

I was trying to get Jaxon to turn and lacy decided she wanted to lay right under me.

Gross! My ankles are so swollen now.
I did have cute feet at one point.
