19 Weeks.

Jax still hasn't been sleeping well. He wakes up every 2 1/2 hours at night and only takes 30 minute cat naps. Im not sure if it is because of the cold or teething or possibly a 4 month growth spirt, but all I know is I'm exhausted!
For the most part he is getting over his cold but still wakes up congested and I have to suck out the junk. As for teething... well I'm not breastfeeding him anymore. I pump and give it to him in a bottle ( and im doing formula also). He now thinks its funny to bite down on my nipple and pull as hard as he can... then when I say OW, he looks up at me and smiles and then does it again. What a little stinker.
I think I'm going to have my hands full with this one.
I took Jax to the doctor this week. He couldn't get his shots because he was sick, so we are doing it this Wednesday. Jax is now 24in (15th percentile) and weighs 11 lbs 10 oz (3rd percentile).
My doctor wants me to get his weight up so I have been doing more formula then normal.
Im thinking its because Im not making enough milk and he is always spitting it up.

We took Jaxon to the beach for the first time. We haven't taken him out on the sand yet but we did a 2 mile walk. The weather was perfect! This is our winter in southern California. Im going to try and do it once or twice a week. Its so nice to take Jax out and he loves looking at everything. I cant wait to take him out on the sand!

18 Weeks.

This week has been rough. My husband was really sick with what we think was the flu.
He was quarantined to a different room for 2 nights so he wouldn't get the baby or I sick.
Well... that didn't help. Jax is now sick again but has been running a temp of 100.
He is very congested and Im constantly sprays saline spray in his nose.
Poor little guy.

We celebrated my dads birthday this week.

Mike and I have found that our little Jaxon is going to be a water baby.
He loves showers and baths!
If we put his head under the water in the shower, he doesn't get upset, he just smiles.
I cant wait to see how he does in a pool. It could be very different since it will be cold water instead of warm.

Mommy Spa Day

Since Im a new mom and dont have the time or money to go out and spoil myself, I decide to do it at home.
My mom and sister found this great face mask that most people have the ingredients for already. Its called the Mocha Frappuccino Mask.

  • 2 Tbsp freshly ground coffee (the finer the grind, the better)
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 3 Tbsp. milk (whole), heavy cream, or yogurt ( I use yogurt)
  • 1 Tbsp. honey

Mix all the ingredients together well. I wash my face first, then apply the mask. Let the mask dry for 15-20 minutes. Wash off in the shower, scrubbing VERY lightly over the skin while rinsing. You face feels so good after.

Take the time and do something special for yourself. For me, I try to keep my nails painted and pretty. Its just something I like to do when Jax is sleeping.

4 Months.

Happy 4 months my sweet baby boy!
The last 4 months have been amazing for your dad and I.
You are the best thing that has ever happened to us.
This last month we have watched you change so much.
You are getting more and more of a personality each day.
You love to talk to yourself in the morning and loving talking to us while your getting changed.
You have now found out how to scream, and you do it very well.
When I stand you up, you get so excited you squeal.
And look at those eyes! You got my blue eyes.
Everything else is your dad. You are his mini me, but your eyes are mine.
You are starting to grab toys better and bring them to your mouth.
You have a hard time holding onto them for a long period of time.
You love your Sophie giraffe and your keys.
This last month is when I put you in your bumbo chair and you will hang out there for 20 min and then want out.
And bath time is your favorite. If your upset, ill take you in the bath with me and your calm down instantly.
You are perfect.
We love you more then you will ever know!

17 Weeks.

This week has been the start of something wonderful. Jax is now sleeping in his bassinet thingy. I have no idea what to call it. I guess fisher price calls it the newborn sleeper. Anyways, it cradles him like his swing does so he feels secure. All I have to do is put him in it, give him his binky and rock it until he turns his head to the side and closes his eyes. After that he is pretty much good to go. PRAISE GOD. Its about time.

It seems like this week Jaxon has been a lot more talkative. I posted a video on my Facebook page of him talking at the mall. I just adore this kid.

We took family photos this week since Jaxon's little cousin is now here. It was cute getting a picture of the brothers with their baby boys.

We also celebrated my brothers 17th birthday. ( and Jax is 17 weeks)

We got together with Caitlin and her little family so we could take another picture since we did one when we were pregnant at the same time. Her son Emmett is two months younger then Jax and they are the same size!
