Endometriosis *&%$^#&@($^$*#(@

Let me start by saying, If you dont know what endometriosis is....then your lucky. Thats probably because you dont have it.
{Endometriosis is a female health disorder that occurs when cells from the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other areas of the body. This can lead to pain, irregular bleeding, and problems getting pregnant}

Right before my 21st birthday I was told that there was a big possibility that I had it but the only way to check was by doing surgery. Two days after my birthday was my first surgery, and what do you know... I did have it. They found some on the bottom of my uterus and scar tissue in other places where it had been before. They removed all they could find, but the problem with endometriosis is, it can be microscopic and they cant get it all. That means it will grow back. Two month after my surgery, I started having the bad pains again. My doctor put me on a medicine ( gave me a shot twice in 6 months) called Lupron Depot. Worst thing I have had to go through so far! It basically put me through a form of menopause! So yes ladies, I know what its like to go through menopause...and I get to do it again when I get older. My husband is an amazing man for going through that with me.
Anyways, that still didnt help. Two years after my first surgery, I went through the surgery again. And I was still having problems. At that point I was ready to give up. They had me on a continuise birth control that made me feel like I wasn't myself and I was going crazy. A month after my second surgery, I made the dicision to go off birth control. I hated the way it made me feel and I was just so sick of it. Plus, having all the treatment and different drugs in my body along with the desise, I did think I could even get pregnant.
And what do you know... 2 months after being off birth control, along came Jax.
Even though people may think it was dumb for me to get prenany after only being married for 7 months (but Mike and I had been together for 6 years) I know it was Gods plan and the right time for us.
I can proudly say Jaxon is my miracle baby because I havent had any symptoms of edomitriosis coming back!
They say that pregnancy can sometimes cure it, and I think im one of the lucky ones.
I just pray that it will not grow back!

And if you know someone who has it, be understanding because it is truely hard to live with.

I thank God every day for you!

  1. This tugged on my heart strings. My mom had that. It truly is a miracle and I agree with you that God gave you Jax for a reason. I don't like hearing you have endometriosis for one minute, but I do love hearing your outlook on it. I know having such a terrible diagnosis can sometimes be depressing and to see that you haven't let it affect your life to the point of it hindering your day to day life and the way you live. I hope for your sake and Jax's that nothing grows back. Hopefully, the pregnancy did in fact cure it. Fingers crossed. I love that you had the courage to write a post about it. Be strong mommy!

  2. My mother, too, had endo. She had one surgery to attempt to clear it up but ended up having a second to remove her uterus at a young age.My sister and I were both scared into surgery after being told we had it. But luckily for us, we didn't. My cousins girlfriend has it pretty severely and is taking similar shots to control it. I know the pain and suffering she goes through is crazy sad. I'm thankful that you have Jax and I pray that he has taken all your endo away. If not, know that God has still given you the greatest gift possible. Keep up the positive attitude Sierra, I know it's hard :)

    1. I'm glad to hear it wasn't passed down to you. I heard its hereditary and I'm scared to have a girl for that reason.

    2. It is hereditary, so I could still have it. I have uterus adhesions, which are kind of like a warning sign for endo, said my old gyno. I was told I was going to have trouble getting pregnant and it only took one try so, just remember that God is greater than any medicine :)

  3. My older sister had it. She had problems getting pregnant and had to do invitro. She eventually did have a baby girl but it didn't cure it so she ended with a historectomy. I remember them telling her there were only two Ways to get rid of it and it was sometimes a baby cures it or a historectomy (this was 10 years ago so I'm not sure orbit is the same). Coming from someone who has seen my sister on soooo much pain with endometriosis I can say I am VERY happy for you that you were able I have your baby and possible he cured! That's awesom!

    1. I'm glad to hear she was still able to have a baby! What a blessing. I was told the even a historectomy might not work if the endometriosis has attached to other organs. I wish they knew what caused it.
