51 & 52 Weeks.

Man oh man is Jax a daddy's boy. All he wants is his dad. Even though I always want him to want me, I love seeing how muh he loves his dad.

Jax bit my moms shoulder and my knee. He has no idea what he was doing because that's how he usually give kisses but this time he bit down. Luckily he did it once and hasn't done it again.

Jaxon now has 4 teeth! That would explain the amount of slobber and runny nose he has had.

We signed up with a new bank this week and signed Jaxon up with his very own savings account. They had a deal that if we signed up we got $50 per account, so Jax got his first $50!

We slowly started giving Jaxon whole milk this week. I started by mixing a little in with his formula. I also started putting it in a sippy cup instead of a bottle to start weening him off. He has done amazing!

Jaxon met a frog. He just stared at it and wasnt sure what to do.

We had our first sleep over at my friends house this week. Jax went down alright but woke up at 3am in a panic. He refused to go back to sleep so since he wouldn't sit still in the bed, I slept on the floor with him. We didn't go back to sleep till 4:30-5. It was not fun. But besides that, it was a lot of fun having the kids play together.

____________________________________

This week Jaxon has been such a grumpy butt. I'm not sure if he is teething or just getting use to being on whole milk. He hasn't had a rash or any problems so I don't think it's the milk. He is now drinking all whole milk and no formula. Im just hoping it isn't hurting his tummy.

He is climbing on everything!! I can't turn my back at all or he will find something to climp on. It's exhausting.

Jaxon is now throwing major fits. If he can't have something he screams and gets bright red. Are you sure he's turning 1 and not 2?

He got to play with his other friend, Eli. It so cute watching him play and get along with other kids.

We also did cake smash pictures this week! Check them out here >>> Cake Smash Pictures.
He loved it! He had more fun playing in it then eating it. He did get a good could handfuls in his mouth though. At the ends, he got up and wanted to stomp in it.

Cake Smash Pictures!

( Amazing Onesie by Leah @ Simply Made With Love)

I'm so happy to have a best friend ( Liv ) that takes such good pictures!
She isn't professional and this was her first time taking pictures of Jaxon. She first got her camera to take pictures of her kids. I can now say she should definitely do this professionally. She is amazing!

The cake!
------------
You will need:
I box of cake mix
2 containers of frosting (there will be left overs)
Decorating bags and tips
Cake pan (I bought a small one from michaels)
Food coloring (got mine from michaels)
Bowls for mixing colors

I went and bought this cake decorations set at target. I'm not sure what the tips I used are called. This was my first time making a layered cake and I know nothing about it.

The two blues I used- Royal blue and sky blue.
After I mix up all the ingredients for the cake, I separated it into three bowls so I could have three different colored layers. I first mixed one bowl with the royal blue to the shade I wanted. I put a little of that same blue in the second bowl and then put a little of the sky blue with it. I wanted an in between color. Then I put a tiny bit of sky blue in the last on and mixed it up. If I wanted it darker, I just kept adding till I got the color I wanted. Its good to start out with a tiny bit because you can always go darker. I also did that with the frosting.
Once it was done baking, I cut the tops off to make sure all were the same size and flat. I spread a little of the frosting between each layer.

For the frosting, I had two containers that I put into five bowl and started with the darkest color to the lightest. I put each color in their own decorating bag and stuck it in the fridge until I was ready to use them.
Decorating-I started at the bottom and worked my way up. It took me about 4 hours. If you don't have a baby to watch, it will take less.

{Preparing For Jaxon's Birthday} Birthday Sign

I went and bought paper that was different shades of blue. I printed out one of the flags from online and then traced it on all the paper. That way I made sure they were all the same.

Once I cut them all out, I laid them out to see how I wanted them to look.

I cut out circles and then used the pattern scissor to make the edges look cool.
I traced out each letter on the circles and then used a fine point sharpie to make them darker.
I used double sided tape and stuck them to each flag.
I punched two holes on the top for when I'm ready to put them on string.

{Preparing For Jaxon's Birthday} Tissue Paper Tassels

I just LOVE tissue paper tassels. Here is the tutorial I found to make them >> Tissue-Tassel

Ill be using them for Jaxon's cake smash pictures along with his birthday party.
I had a hard time finding all the colors I needed to make the blue ombre so I went to Hobby Lobby, Target and Walmart. Each had different shades so it was perfect.

For Every Son Out There.

I saw this on facebook the other day and thought it was too good not to share. It was posted after the VMA's where we all saw the discussing (in my opinion) Miley Cyrus performance. If you liked it ( I dont judge) then thats your own thing but I don't want to hear about it.
"Dear son,
Don’t let Robin Thicke be a lesson to you.
Don’t let any of these pigs and perverts you see on TV be a lesson to you. They treat women like garbage; they possess no chivalry, no self control; they are disloyal and dishonest; they spend all day pursuing pleasure at the expense of others, and they encourage you to do the same. You might be tempted to follow suit. In fact, you WILL be tempted. These male pop stars and celebrities, look at them, you’ll think. They take advantage of emotionally broken, self loathing, confused young women, and they are rewarded handsomely for it. Look at their nice clothes and their nice cars. Look how they are admired and loved. Look, they treat women like trash and other women fawn all over them because of it. This must be how real men behave, you’ll think.
And you’ll be wrong. You’ll be wrong about a lot of things in life — this is what it means to be human — but never will you be more wrong than when you feel the temptation to buy the lies that pop culture sells about the nature of true masculinity. Son, there is nothing glamorous or fun about being a man of low character and no integrity. What you see on TV is a facade. It’s a sales pitch. It’s poison. You see the bright lights and the sexy women, but you don’t see what happens when the cameras are off and these pop culture gods return to their lives as mere mortals. You don’t see them in their big, empty, lonely houses. You don’t see the emptiness in the pit of their souls. You don’t see all the alcohol and drugs they have to use to dull the pain of living a life devoid of real, committed relationships. You don’t see the hatred they have for themselves and for humanity. You don’t see the jealousy they have towards normal, decent men.
Your dad is no celebrity. He’s just an average, boring guy. But he’s got something that every famous and non-famous womanizer envies: He’s got the love and commitment of ONE beautiful, smart, faithful woman. He’s got your mom, and he’ll only have your mom until the day he dies. He ought to be waking up every day shouting praises to the Lord because of that.
Listen, son, don’t let the world tell you how to be a man. They don’t know anything about the subject.
Men are loyal. Men are honest. Men respect and honor women. A man goes out and finds one woman, and he vows to protect and love her for the rest of his life. A man would never betray that vow. Even the weakest and most cowardly man — if he is a man at all — would die for the woman he loves. Your dad is no hero, but let someone try to hurt your mom and watch him suddenly turn into Superman (or Batman, whichever you prefer).
See, son, you don’t have to be big and strong to be a man, although I think you will be one day. You don’t have to be “cool” or athletic. You don’t have to play guitar or fix cars. These are all fine things, but they don’t define a man. A man is defined by how he treats women, by how he keeps his promises, and by how he protects and serves the ones he loves. That’s what makes a man a man. My dad taught me that, he taught it by example. I pray I can do the same for you.
Oh, and by the way, if I ever catch you disrespecting women, I will sit you down and talk to you about it. But first I’ll kick your butt up and down the street. That’s a promise. "

Matt Walsh, I absolutely LOVED this and respect you very much. Im so glad to have a husband that lives by this and I will make sure my son lives by this too.

Nothing But Glisten Update

It just amazes me how many wonderful people I have met since I started this little business. I've made some great friends and I just adore all my customers.
Recently I had this idea of how to get my name out there along with helping other small businesses to grow.
So I came up with Mama's Homemade. I found 3 other moms that own a small shop who wanted to join in on the fun.
We came up with a cute little post card that we stick in with each order that gives them a discount towards their next purchase for all the shops.

They are all extremely sweet so try and get to know them.
All of them have Facebook & Instagram pages. Follow them and help support homemade businesses.

As for my shop, I have been hard at work creating new things for each and everyone.
My etsy shop is pretty small but that is because most of the things I do are custom.
I have had many people find things that I have made and ask me to change them to fit what they are looking for. So, if you dont see something you like, shoot me an email and we can come up with something just for you.

Check out my sites and follow :)

Wedding Gifts for the wedding party or the Bride & Groom.

They you all for your love and support.
You have no idea how much I truly appreciate it!!
